TOEFL speaking section description

The TOEFL speaking section is aimed at your speaking skills. And again, it’s all about speaking in an academic environment, like university, campus, etc.

The section will be 17 minutes long. During that time you will be asked 4 questions. The first of them is called the “independent speaking question” or “independent speaking task“. It may be inferred from the name, that your task here is to give your independent opinion or share your views about something. In essence, it’s answering a question like “What do you think about . . ?”

The other three questions are called “integrated speaking questions” or “integrated speaking tasks“. They are called this way because when answering you will have to rely on your other language skills. That means that you’ll have to integrate your speaking, listening, and reading skills. Ths the name. 🤷‍♂️
